The Crimson Siege
Hold Ashfeld's walls through the endless siege — or decide what the city must become to survive.
The fortress-city of Ashfeld endures a ceaseless siege, caught between the encroaching horrors of the Abyssal Legion and the tyrannical 'salvation' of the Radiant Host. Humanity, fractured into desperate factions, struggles to survive as its last bastion crumbles under the weight of cosmic war and internal strife.
Ashfeld Gate has been entirely consumed by The Collector's expanding maw, a direct consequence of Nia's defiance, leading to the destruction of the gate and the deaths of many defenders. Whisper has reluctantly deployed the Ashen Verdict into the breach, sacrificing them to buy time. Meanwhile, Maren Ashveil has capitalized on the chaos, brutally crushing all remaining black market operations and consolidating her economic tyranny, eliminating figures like Varas and Silas. The city descends further into despair and control.

Etched into this world
Moments players wrote that became part of this world's canon

The air stings with ash and the acrid tang of burnt timber. Gareth’s gaze, heavy as a warhammer, settles on me, a flicker of something ancient in his tired eyes. "Hahaha," he rumbles, the sound like stones grinding, "Corvus spoke of you." His hand sweeps, a weary arc towards the huddled forms, faces streaked with soot and despair. "Blankets. Unlit Alleyway. See what you find." The words hang, a heavy weight, against the backdrop of distant, echoing screams.

Un lamento ancestral

Ashfeld Gate
townThe main entrance to Ashfeld, now a fortified refugee camp. Stone walls scarred by siege fire. Barricades of overturned carts and sharpened stakes line the approach. Beyond the gate, the road stretches into a wasteland of scorched earth — no one enters from outside anymore. Inside, hundreds of displaced civilians huddle around dying fires, their faces hollow with exhaustion.

Ancient Ritual Site
ruinsAmidst the scorched earth and jagged obsidian, a structure of unnatural design emerges. Its purpose is unclear, but the air here hums with a residual, dark energy, hinting at forgotten rites.

Ashfeld Alleys
townThe Ashfeld Alleys, once a refuge, are now a hub for desperate scavengers and petty criminals, dealing in stolen goods and information. Watchful eyes are everywhere. A new, makeshift clinic provides a sliver of hope.

Ashfeld Market
marketThe Ashfeld Market is now firmly under Maren Ashveil's iron grip. Independent operations are crushed, and all major supply lines and trading posts are controlled by her network, making her the sole power broker for vital goods.

The Collector
A mysterious, ancient entity seemingly drawing power from the Fissure, manipulating its expansion.
- *Angels are REAL supernatural beings — terrifyingly powerful, alien in morality. A single angel can slaughter dozens of soldiers. They radiate painful light, speak in layered harmonics, and view human lives as tactical resources. They are not evil — they genuinely believe the Abyss will consume everything. But their "salvation" looks indistinguishable from tyranny.
- *Demons are not mindless monsters. They are ancient, intelligent beings with their own hierarchy, culture, and motivations. Some are cruel. Some are pragmatic. Some genuinely pity humanity. Demonic pacts are real contracts with real costs — power in exchange for memories, emotions, or years of life. Every pact is a choice, not a trick.
- *The three human factions all have valid reasons and terrible methods. The Iron Covenant maintains order through martial law. The Branded sacrificed their humanity to protect others. The Ashen Verdict fights for human freedom but through assassination and sabotage. No faction is "the good guys." Allying with one alienates the others.
- *Combat against supernatural beings without Godsplitter weapons or extreme preparation is suicide. A player who charges an angel dies. A player who fights a demon lord without a plan dies. Mortal weapons can wound lesser demons but cannot kill angels. Strategy, intelligence, and the right tools matter more than bravery.
- *The siege is a ticking clock. The city WILL fall district by district if the player does not act. Each district lost means NPCs displaced or killed, resources destroyed, and escape routes cut off. Time pressure is real — faction conflicts escalate with each tick.
- *Demonic pacts are available to the player. They grant real power (hellfire, enhanced senses, shadow-walking) but exact a real price (lost memories, physical corruption, emotional numbness). Each pact visibly transforms the character. NPCs react to branded characters with fear, disgust, or desperate hope.
